Ritalin side effects

Ritalin and similar drugs, have been proven to act like stimulants such as speed. Nora Volkow, director of nuclear medicine at the Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, N.Y. has done studies that show the drugs cause common side effects such as loss of appetite, weight loss, insomnia, depression, headaches, stomache aches, bed wetting, irritability and dizziness. Most children taking the drug become robotic, lethargic, depressed and withdrawn. In rare cases there is psychological damage such as deep depression, exhaustion suicide, death or even an urge to kill.

Doesn't sound very healthy does it. Many doctors give prescriptions for Ritalin because they are getting benefits from drug companies. There has been no proof of the benefits of Ritalin. Exercise and a healthy diet are usually all that's needed to make the brain function properly.
